RE: Rendering artifats
@v850tw Hi . . . . In many videos I have uploaded to you tube, it seems the first second or 2 is rough and has to come up to speed . . . . That is a common event with YT as it determines which resolution to deliver to you to ensure smooth viewing

RE: Rendering artifats
Here are 2 screen shots. It is hard to see, but there is a blockiness in the sky on the right picture - artifacts that I don't see in the original. I guess you have to see it rendered, and then it is much worse in youtube. What am I missing in VPX?

RE: Rendering artifats
Thanks Roger. I don't see the artifacts in the original footage. I have used VPX on 2 different laptops... 1 a very slow dog, and now on an older engineering laptop with Intel i7 vPro. Maybe Panasonic AVCHD files are too highly compressed. But I

It was inconclusive amongst the respondents as to why it did not always do what it said it was going to. In the end some of us could not justify the use of it for the little gain it brought to our requirements. @CubeAce Smart rendering in MEP (or

@jak.willis Normally the program just won't accept any other commands until it finishes. The bits it renders shows as a thin bar running under the timeline/frame bar. Not all of the files have to be rendered. Normally there is one file that is used

@jak.willis Smart rendering in MEP (or any other video editor) will only work if the project only uses butt joins. No cross fades or effects except when using the AVCHD codec. From the pdf manual. Page 338 (refering only to MPEG 2 files) Smart

RE: DVD/Blu-ray Burning
Is M2TS the same as AVCHD? Sometimes. But not always. M2TS is usually done with an AVC codec. But m2ts files on a Blu-ray disc could be anything that is Blu-ray format compliant. For example if you put a compliant SD vob or mpeg2 file on a Blu-ray

RE: DVD/Blu-ray Burning
DVD video must use the mpeg-2 format. BD must use the M2TS format, which is a variant of the mpeg-2 format. Neither disc type can contain any other format of video files if the content is to be playable by standard, domestic DVD and BD players. As

No sound when importing AVCHD video.
No audio playback when importing AVCHD video from my JVC Everio camcorder. I am using MEP v17.0.3.183 in a Win 10 environment. I downloaded the MPEG-4 FULL Codec Upgrade, with no change in audio. Importing audio-only media (.m4a) plays the audio
