RE: does magix movie maker software allow user to hi-light, arrow or cloud (somewhere identify) a person on in the video?
Hi Under the Effects tab, Design elements, Image objects there are several objects in the various sections which you can use to highlight / point to a person. Without knowing your skill level with MEP the basic idea is you add one of the

RE: Chroma Key
Hi Bill, Did you look up Chroma in the manual? F1, Search, Chroma. Everything is defined, but not in detail. Try out the various ones to see what they do. Look up Chroma, Alpha, masks in this Q&A part and also in the Forum tab. There have

RE: Tethering
Hi, There are a couple of ways to do this, but they get down to what John E Baker indicated. Here is another way. Create a simple white rectangle with a feathered edge. Make it quite large, like about 600 px high by 400 wide. I used Xara for

RE: Tethering
Hi The technique you are referring to is called Picture in Picture (PIP). MEP has a set of PIP templates available on the Effects tab, Design elements, Picture in picture. What you want to do is not covered by these templates, however it is

RE: Applying Lower Thirds In Movie Edit Pro 2015
@Peter, Thank you for the explanation. I did more testing using the new Xara Designer Pro X11 (still on trial). In Xara, I used AVI uncompressed, Transparent, quality cannot be changed. When I check the Metadata of the AVI files produced by

RE: Applying Lower Thirds In Movie Edit Pro 2015
Hi John C.B. The first example is simply the objects exported with a transparent background. This is what I assume to be a video with an alpha channel. Is this correct? Peter, is this what you mean by an avi with an alpha channel? Maybe,

@Terry, Thanks for the information. This answers some of my questions and confirms that MEP can handle alpha channel transparency on the import side but not on the export side. You should have gone for the Xara offer. It is truly

RE: Transparent Button?
ADFAICS to get a transparent background to the image you need to save it as a BMP file with an Alpha channel. OK, John, put me out of my misery: what's the D in that acronym please?

RE: Applying Lower Thirds In Movie Edit Pro 2015
Hi All MEP doesn't support alpha channel video, unfortunately, only images. Not so! MEP has always worked with a 32bit RGBA (A=Alpha channel) AVI dropped on the track below the video, without having to apply any further Alpha

RE: Transparent Button?
Hi, I just tried this with a png that I created in Xara and exported, true color&alpha, transparent. It was the first frame in the movie and was thus used for the button. In the Burn menu, to get the background black, I clicked on my image,

Yes, I was afraid that Vimeo would convert & lose the alpha channel. If you are interested in further testing, I can send to you via "We Transfer".
