    RE: Faded text
Hello Terry  ! The problem with gradually coming and vanishing letters are solved. I used a black/white mask with a short gradient with a length of half the background photo,  and zoomed it out with Size/Position so much that the black part

    RE: Effects Mask?!
A little mistake in my previous post, at point 2 it should be Sharpness, not Brightness/Contrast. Here is the way to do the same thing but using the same image twice with the mask between them. There is more flexibility with this method as you

    RE: Effects Mask?!
There are a few ways to handle masks. The one you are trying is the basic one and there is a sequence to be followed. Start with something that will give you a major visual effect, like blur. Try this: Get an image on the screen, photo or

RE: HDR (High Dynamic Range) Images
Hi Anirban You have got it more or less although I am not sure why the Alpha clip is longer than the one in track 1? It should be an exact copy created by Ctrl > Left click Track1 and then drag to track 2, prior to adding the alpha effect.

RE: HDR (High Dynamic Range) Images
Hi All I moved the thread to MEP Discussion. John C.B. - That halo effect is what I was referring to in my previous post. It can be reduced by moving the HDR Blur slider down to about 20 but don't go too low because the effect goes haywire

RE: HDR (High Dynamic Range) Images
Hi This is an interesting discussion and I use this feature in MEP a lot, given the limited dynamic range of digital camcorders it is invaluable. I wonder though that the effect Anirban is looking for is in fact using it in the opposite sense or

alpha channel disappears from 3D title when aligned
I've got a stereo image which I'm putting a 3D Title over. All is fine until I set the alignment on the 3D title, and now I cannot see the stereo image behind the title (goes black). Any options? thanks

RE: Using many tracks in MEP 2014
Thanks for the answer John! All my masks are active Alpha-masks. Indeed, I save them with a name ending with _alpha.png, and thus they are automatically treated as Alpha's when dragged to Timeline. The film is shown correct in MEP, but not

Hi Andreas Clown2's tutorial does not appear to mention the Alpha effects direction arrow. which appears when you hover the mouse over the white image with the Alpha effect applied - this must point down as shown here Note the white square

[Closed] How can I get Audio Cleaning Lab 16 Deluxe save a Playlist (M3u,*.cue) file type?
My copy of Cleaning Lab 16 Deluxe does not save a file (M3u,*.cue). When I save my LPs or cds the songs are saved in alpha order. I would like to have (M3u,*.cue) file so that the songs are saved in order of the original source, lp or cd. The

RE: how to create soft edges around a clip
Hi Vincent If you create or use a rectangle soft edged (gradient) mask as we have suggested you will have a rectangular hole in the middle of your background, with the lower track showing through, after applying the Alpha Chroma key to the mask

RE: how to create soft edges around a clip
Hi,   I'm not at my PC right now so I can't illustrate with screenshots, but in summary: 1. Make a mask of your preferred shape with blurred (feathered) edges, using your image editor. For example, a white circle feathered into a black

RE: Apply same effect to same clip
An alternative might be to apply the effect to the specific areas of two copies of your clip and have an alpha mask in between to select which part of each is visible. Eg: Track 1 - PIxelator effect on the right side of the clip Track 2 -

Quick answer for now. Do not try to bring in a mask using the effects popdown unless you have one with a white oval on a clear, not black, background. If you do have one, do not try to bring in a second one the same way as it will replace the one
