Frame drop problem - frames don't make it to the final recording
I use Video easy Rescue Your Videotapes! Version 8.0, to rip PAL VHS tapes. While the preview works fine, let aside a problem with the volume (it is lowered down at times), in the final recording, some frames are missing. While that happens to tapes

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
@Jim_H My pleasure, Jim. Can't help with the settings; it depends a lot on the source VHS eg if it's dark, increase the brightness/contrast. Washed-out colour, crank up the saturation (although a lot of this can be done in MEP after you have

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
That's kind of what I figured. Now I can finally move forward and start saving my VHS tapes. (Do you know of any articles/howto's to help with the more technical settings on the ADVC-most of them don't mean anything to me.) Thanks so much for your

RE: VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
You were right. I didn't have the AV->DV turned on in the camcorder. I got the feed from the VCR through the camcorder with no problem into MEP, and could record. However, when I hooked up the ADVC300 between the VCR and the camcorder, MEP didn't

VHS to digital via Firewire problem; MEP 2015
I have a problem with capturing VHS tapes to MEP 2015 via Firewire. I have installed the Legacy Firewire driver for my WIN 10 desktop computer, and have used my Canon Elura 60 camcorder to capture the tapes made with the camcorder with MEP, with no

RE: VPX12 New Version now out - New Features - Old bugs?
@johnebaker Hi John. Thanks for checking! At the moment VPX is exporting a 2 hour video file so cannot check again for a little while, at least. Once completed, I will try opening another "old" project and see what happens with that. I'm not sure

No sound on import from VHS tape to laptop.
I have followed the video and PDF manual using version 9 RYVT. All seemed straight forward and certainly the video image transfer is perfect, however there is great distortion of sound, (hissing), while recording is taking place and similar on

RE: Big AVIs-Displaying Audio Waveform
@AAProds Hi Alwyn . . . . Is there a size/time limit on a file at which point MEP will not produce a waveform? . . . . None, which audio format/codec/sample rate are your recording as? This may be a dumb question - is there a reason for not using

Big AVIs-Displaying Audio Waveform
I'm doing some VHS transfers. I'm using Virtual Dub to capture my AVIs in Lagarith format. When I import them into MEP, no audio waveform is created, and there is no right-click option to create it after the file is on the timeline. These AVIs are

@AAProds Hi Alwyn I agree to disagree on the bitrate/resolution setting, however . . . . .I suggest you contact the production company and ask them what resolution and file size they want your video to be. . . . . I agree totally with you on this

RE: Saving to MP4
@johnebaker Gday John, You must be referring to a SD - 720 x 576 or 720 x 480 px video file. For sending to another person to edit/incorporate/re-encode into another video SD is, IMHO, not good enough for incorporation into another video - a higher

RE: VPX12 New Version now out - New Features - Old bugs?
Well, here we go with another issue introduced by VPX12! I do quite a lot of transfer from analogue video, typically VHS, via a Canopus ACEDVio internal PCI card, to computer for any "editing" and eventual burning to DVD. Using the "DV Recording"

@Alwyn Hi Al 30GB / Hr........you said 40GB / Hr before.........sounds like it's very lossy! Haw haw. I guess that's manageable. Smart copy! Oh where did that go, Magix It is still there, but I think it only ever worked with MPEG4. @emmrecs

nothing would beat Uncompressed or Lossless Lagarith if you could stick the enormous amounts of storage it would chew up to capture 3x 2hour tapes. @Scenestealer Gday Peter, Lagarith Lossless is 30gb her hour, so not a tall ask, storage-wise, these
