RE: Menus - How Can I Use A Plain Background?
TheArtfulDoger, Wow! Two answers come in while I type. @John, I tried your suggestion and it changes the color of the entire background, not just the button/text area. :-( This is my contribution to the discussion (with late

RE: Pixillating 2 areas of a video sequence
Very neat indeed John! What is particularly useful is the fact that the mask can be freely resized. In my version the background has to cover the entire film image area. My usual added note: if you name your mask 'whiteoval_alpha.png' the

sparshere, Stack them! I've made color shifs on the pixelated tracks to show the differences better: Track 1 - pixelated image Track 2 - mask #1 Note the alpha arrow icon points down Track 3 - Normal image Track 4 - mask #2

RE: How come I don't hear my Roland Juno 1 synthesizer playback
"Is there a wire I need to buy for me to connect my Juno to the Line-IN?" Yes.  Since you didn't say, I am assuming your Line-IN jack accepts a mini 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo (TRS - tip/ring/sleeve) plug.  So, you would need a Y-adapter cable (or a

It is not entirely clear what you're trying to say.  However, it sounds like you (and so many other people lately) are confused about MIDI. Plugging your Alpha Juno 1 into your computer using a MIDI/USB connection means you intend to

How come I don't hear my Roland Juno 1 synthesizer playback
Hi everyone, I need help recording my sounds from my Roland Alpha Juno 1 synthesizer. It's a midi connector, so I decided to buy a MIDI to USB interface from Hosa Technology and I plugged it from the MIDI IN connector to the MIDI OUT behind my

RE: Alpha Effect Text Wont Export!
The post I made at 2013-01-09 04:59 AM, with pictures, is how I solved the problem. When the alpha effected text was set up like the first image, the text would not export at all. But when I changed it to the second image, the problem was solved.

RE: Alpha Effect Text Wont Export!
Terry, yes you and Carl have answered how to use the alpha effect, but nobody was able to answer why the alpha effected text, once created, would sometimes work and sometimes not work. My problem wasn't on how to use the alpha effect, but why it

George, track one has my background video. Track two has my text with the alpha effect. Track three has the image for the alpha effect to texturize the text.

    Alpha Effect Text Wont Export!
Ok. I am very frustrated. I've been working on a film that's about an hour long. I'm working in Magix Movie Edit Pro 14.  I just finished adding 82 quotes to the film, using the alpha effect. This is the first time I have tried the alpha effect. I

RE: Text Wont Appear with Alpha Effect
jmorrell, No problem here using MEP14. Export displays just as seen in the preview window. How are you introducing your texture? Note that the title with alpha effect added goes between the texture image and the background. See also here

Text Wont Appear with Alpha Effect
This is for Magix Movie Edit Pro 14. I am trying to add text to a video and am using the alpha effect to texturize the text. However, when I go back and play the video after this is done the text does not appear at all. If I click on the text

RE: [MEP17+] Gray key image matte...
Glad to hear you're up and running. A tip mentioned elsewhere -- if you name your mask filename_alpha.jpg etc, it will load with the alpha effect automatically. You can still go to the window to make adjustments.

RE: [MEP17+] Gray key image matte...
Gorg, I've not got MEP17 to check just how it does it (14Plus >> 2013Premium) but what you want is 'alpha' chroma key. Basics are a stack of three tracks: Background image on higher (lower number) track. Alpha mask -- governs

RE: how to isolate section of video
The usual scheme is to have two copies of your clip (one normal and one blurred etc) separated by an 'alpha mask': Track 1 normal clip Track 2 the mask eg a white circle on a black background .jpg image with 'alpha' chroma key applied. Track

jmorrell, Assuming you meant '...take the color and texture from (the picture)...', I think all you need to do is apply the alpha effect to your title, not the picture below it. Alpha effect makes that track control whether you see the track

When I use the alpha option to give text color and texture, there is only texture and no color.
I am trying to add texture and color to my text in Magic Pro 14. I insert the text and then put the picture I want to take the color and text from in the track below it. I right click on the picture, select "video effects" and then click
