Slideshow Wizard: any new thoughts on creating short clips?
We discussed this about 18 months ago. If I remember correctly we concluded that the shortest object MEP's wizard could create was 7 seconds. Has anyone found a way to reduce that please? Even as a video's proud author I find that after a couple of

    RE: Preview rendering 'Auto' over-confident?
Hi John, OK, understood. That was due to my rather rushed manual panning! I used my 3D Connexion Space Navigator for that particular shot. And for the one captured with the Windows 10 Game Bar - but I must have been more fluid with that! BTW, what

    RE: Preview rendering 'Auto' over-confident?
Hi Terry . . . . Do you mean, is the result smooth if I apply vertical panning to, say, a still image? . . . I meant as the scene pans down - it is not smooth. The Windows capture video is much smoother than the FRAPS. John EB

Another alternative to FRAPS is the one built-in to Win 10. As I'm not a game player I've only just discovered it. With Google Earth open, and ready to play a tour, or ready for me to manually pan/zoom/tilt/rotate, I press Win+Alt+r to start or stop

    RE: Preview rendering 'Auto' over-confident?
Hi John, Thanks, yes, that's always an option, although naturally an unwanted extra step. What was the behaviour of the AVI in a new project? "One question - is the vertical pan jerky on your PC?" Not sure I get the connection with the video? Do you

    RE: Preview rendering 'Auto' over-confident?
Hi Terry Thanks for the FRAPS clip. I have had a play with this and find if I convert the AVI to MP4 (h.264) with MovAvi it plays smoothly in MEP 2016 first time (no proxy). A copy of the mp4 is here. One question - is the vertical pan jerky on your

RE: VPX/MEP - effect to handle video filmed in portrait mode
Hi . . . . Judging from your image, it would be better with a black background or something homemade. . . . . I would agree with you - the only one that, IMO, gives a reasonable effect is the Soft focus series , however they would be better if they

Hi Thanks for the information. You do not have to edit your original post - just comment again with the new information - this way it keeps the thread continuity. . . . . the rendered file is a MP4: MPEG4 Export (MP4):Video: 1280x720 ; 25.00

I found a solution that seems to work well on the few projects that have lots of action - movement. I export as .avi, which is not lossless (uncompressed) but it is not a GOP structure like MP4. The link below exported in .avi was 25gigs, but almost

Terry, I noticed your penchant for time. Left the hotel at 8:13 and walked to the X-bridge, arriving at 8:39. I now just settle for the day, unless timing was important. Being an engineer, I always like to get things in the correct order, so I have

I'm not sure about setting to 16:9. At 4:3 or similar, don't you get more flexibility? More scope for vertical pans, zooms, cropping, etc? How many hours I've wasted struggling with photo time syncing issues! Accuracy is important to me for video
