RE: Acid Pro 10: Pan/Volume control on MIDI track
Yeah, midi is a real pain. In another DAW beginning with A the best thing it ever did was make the whole midi process a lot simpler, and as such got a lot of support early on. Pan CC works, for example, and midi learning is really as easy as can be

RE: SPECTRAL LAYERS FILTER IN AUDIO & MUSIC LAB PREMIUM: WORTH IT?
Hi, I am one that has been warning people, particularly those who had Audio Cleaning Lab and wanted to upgrade when a newer version was released, that Magix created two version - Audio Cleaning Lab (ACL) and Audio & Music Lab Premium (AML). The

Has anyone got sidechaining to work successfully?
No matter what I try, I cannot get sidechained VSTs to export correctly, rendering the feature useless. For example: 1. Add a VST (I mostly use Serum which I'm paying via splice for) and use MIDI to create a synth line 2. Add a kickdrum channel with

RE: Adding text where I want it on the timeline
@CubeAce Hi Ray, Was that your answer to what you meant by "control automation ... on effects controls?" MEP does not do MIDI, thus no MIDI controls. VPX has MIDI Time Control only, but that is for linking to Samplitude using LoopBe1 to be able to

RE: Adding text where I want it on the timeline
@hdrechsel18 For ducking, as John EB mentioned, you may have to modify the points a bit. I do my narration straight into MEP (actually VPX). For my tutorials, I make a script, then try to capture whatever is required to follow the script, find that

RE: Adding text where I want it on the timeline
I tried the "ducking" feature a couple times, but wasn't happy with the way it sounded - a little too mechanical - but maybe a little more tweaking would have helped. For some reason, I get intimidated using a USB mic in front of my project (lol). I

RE: Adding text where I want it on the timeline
@hdrechsel18 Hi . . . . audio tracks are automated (volume). Do you prefer to do this with the mixer automation? I usually display the volume curve on an audio track, place my markers, then pull down / or move up as needed . . . . I used the same

RE: Adding text where I want it on the timeline
@hdrechsel18 Honestly, I never use volume automation with the Mixer; I just show people that it exists and how to do it. I do use object volume curves a lot because if I have to move the object, the volume curve comes with it. I was always putting

RE: VPX12 New Version now out - New Features - Old bugs?
@johnebaker You are correct, but of course, it would depend on the material. I would usually correct volume levels first before mixing down. As well, normalize is to be used judiciously and not blindly. I have an example of 4 audio clips of a walk

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am guessing that to adjust how much the kick makes the bass duck I just adjust the threshold? The further to the right the threshold goes the less it affects the bass line? @Matt-Francis Threshold isn't a

RE: Lowering volume of MAIN audio track to allow another to predominate
@FF22 @Richard-Curtis @Scenestealer @browj2 @emmrecs @johnebaker Hi guys. I would expect a roughly 50/50 split due to environmental conditions, personal preferences, and budgets. I have worked with but never owned reference headphones and the

RE: Lowering volume of MAIN audio track to allow another to predominate
@Richard-Curtis When I do narration, I usually end up with many audio clips, and then just do ducking one by one. I also may have to modify the volume of the narration object itself for plosives. An alternative is turning on automatic volume

@FF22 Please reread carefully what I wrote: For an object, turn on the volume curve (Ctrl+Shift+V or right-click on the audio object) for the object and then click on the green line to set points or keyframes. Or, you can turn on Drawing mouse mode

RE: Lowering volume of MAIN audio track to allow another to predominate
It's a mystery to me that MEP doesn't have a true "auto ducking" feature that damps the sound on a background track in favour of what's happening on the main audio track. I don't know about other programs, but both Pinnacle Studio and Videopad have

@FF22 Hi . . . . the dip/damp is for only about a 1/3 of the video's length . . . . To fix this drag the two handles circled in yellow below to the right - note the mouse point where you drag is the 'thumb' of the mouse icon. John EB Hmmm. I

RE: Lowering volume of MAIN audio track to allow another to predominate
I saw your screen shot. Did you first apply Damping to a trimmed clip and then extend it as you showed in one of your other posts? That is about the only way to get the result that you show. Either that or you moved something. It would help you

RE: Lowering volume of MAIN audio track to allow another to predominate
@FF22 It's normally called "Ducking" but Magix calls it "Damping" in the manual. Search for "Damping" and read what it says to better understand. See the image below. I wanted the music on track 4 to be reduced while the selected clip plays.

RE: Acid Pro 8 (SideChain) Feature Request
I think sidechaining may come together with vst3 support, I'm affraid not for vst2. Right now there is a workaround. It requires a little investement. Guys - get yourself DDMF Metaplugin. It comes with additional vsts: "send it" and "receive it".

RE: 36 Hours of Testing MEP Premier Settings For Playback and Export.
Hi All My view is that the drive speed discussion is a dead duck - using my example: a 400MB file encoded over 2 minutes means that it is writing to the export drive at about 3MB / sec so what drive would have a problem with that! I agree with John
