@wd1 Hi and welcome to the user to user forums. This sounds like a Humble Bundle purchase as Video Pro X 17.0.3.68 is VPX 11 and not VPX 12 the same as I have that was offered at about that time.. You would not get either the update to VPX 12 or 13.

OK, it appears that my problem has been solved. It appears that my install of VPX was corrupted. After following the advice from Magix Support below, not only has the load time of VPX been dramatically improved, but I have not had any more
