RE: Finished video does not fit on screen
@Mary-Westheimer Hi Mary, I don't suggest that you ask Magix how to operate the program - that is what the manual and this forum are for. BTW, I do not see any links to support anywhere. I've looked and looked (after I've consulted the knowledge

RE: Magix Video Resolutions Incorrect?
Here's were misnomers start, Vegas has UHD & 4k, UHD is either Portrait or Landscape, both are 3840 x 2160 (16:9) or vice versa 4K is only in portrait mode but is 2304 x 4096 which is 9:16 🤷♂️😂

RE: "Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
I want to thank folks for the continued discussion. As I understand it Faststone photo editor has an option to crop to 16:9 in a lossless process. So presumably there would be no loss of resolution only the chopping of what *I* would consider less

RE: "Wrong" 4:3 images should have been 16:9 to fil TV screen
@FF22 Is there a way to select an aspect ration of 16:9 or do I have to eyeball it? In the Section effect box, you can choose the desired crop box ratio: This will teach me to NOT going 4:3 originally. I also have to remember that shooting video in

RE: New Project BUT what Movie Settings should I select?
@Xenofex2 Hi George, For me, it depends on what I want as a final result, with due consideration given to the source format(s). If I want to watch this on a full screen, like a telly, then I'll use 16;9 (1920X1080). I am not going to turn the telly

RE: cinema widescreen ratio 21:9
@Colorz Arrgh, I just realised we're in the VPX sub-forum. You should be able to set 1634 for export as I mentioned above. We still need to know what you're trying to achieve with your video though: black side bars, stretched or cropped top and

RE: Image rotation
@CubeAce Hi Ray thanks for your reply. My problem was with the clips from my camcorder which was always shot in landscape. Some clips had the problem, not all. Some were 90 degrees, others were 180 degrees. The clips that didn't have the problem

RE: Image rotation
@Spike Hi. I have had a similar problem in the past which was caused by the camera. My cameras have a setting that enables a portrait image to be shown in the landscape orientation of the view-screen for playback, avoiding the need to keep rotating

Thanks for responding John EB and Ray. I appreciate your time to assist me with this problem. I am not taking any vertical recordings with the camcorder. The camcorder is a Panasonic HC-X920EB-K Full HD Camcorder. The version of my Magix Movie Edit

@Spike As well as giving the information requested by John, are you mixing portrait and landscape clips into one project? If so is the project started as a landscape ratio video for export? I know on occasion while shooting with my DSRL that I

@Spike Hi Spike and welcome to the user to user forums. An aspect ratio is always width by height. That can be set manually when creating a new project along with the correct frame rate and audio sample rate. A file from a camera or phone should

RE: What my "error 84000fb4" was

RE: Portrait clip on top of portrait clip, Size/Position/Rotation is weird
@CubeAce Easy enough to demo, set up Movie setting of 4:3 and use 16:9 images. Normal Landscape will do it too.

RE: Portrait clip on top of portrait clip, Size/Position/Rotation is weird
@Former user @johnebaker Hi to you both. I do not have any portrait taken footage to test but turning landscape images into portrait by rotation I cannot replicate this behaviour. Perhaps the orientation metadata of a portrait shot is not being read

Portrait clip on top of portrait clip, Size/Position/Rotation is weird
Just put a portrait clip on the timeline, duplicated it & was going to stretch the one behind to do that portrait on a blurred landscape background type thing, there's many ways of doing this & i have plenty of plugins so not interested in

@Bob-Schlesinger Hi Bob. In the section effect you need to swap your height and width figures around and possibly not have the full screen ticked. You are mixing landscape ratios with portrait. Ray.
