RE: Exported AVI file is 5x the size
@emmrecs @srpohl @johnebaker ...However, I know that @AAProds (Al) does use such files, though with a specific codec, so I have tagged him here so that he can, hopefully, offer advice based on his experience... I do and I love them (AVIs)! Let me

@AlsoEric @AAProds Hi Eric. I can confirm I am not getting audio with MEP 2021. Plays fine in Windows Film and TV. Can not get the normal 'Show waveform' to show up with a right mouse click either. MEP did not import video and audio onto separate

RE: Movie Edit Pro 2021 is out - New features
I use VirtualDub2 for a quick end trim of TV movies. Using Stream Export from one SSD to another, I see a 1.5 hour video process in a few seconds. I presume that is all hard drive "latency," since the CPU isn't doing much of anything on a stream

You'll ,have to bear with me. I'm not very good with technical information. I play the dvd on my LG 4k player and watch it on my Samsung 4K TV.

@Larry-Bender Hi Still not a lot to go on - answers to 2, second half of 3, and 4 are missing. One factor of lower video image quality with DVD is the device resolution that it is played ie if it is a Full HD 1920 x 1080 or 4K TV, or similar high

RE: Movie Edit Pro 2021 is out - New features
True. But programs like VirtualDub(2) and my competing Video Editor use a smart rendering protocol, where they pass frames through to the output where there are no changes. I routinely trim TV movies using VD2. It takes about 5 seconds to process a

@shgrude It appears Johneb has gone AWOL... Come back john ,we need you! In the meantime, I'll put in my two-bobs worth. From the looks of the manual for the 840, the 16-9 format is simply squashed 4-3. That is, when you play it on a 16-9 TV, it

My 4k LG 55" TV does a great job at upscaling. To my untrained eye 😉, 720x576 ex-VHS looks as good as the video played on my computer screen, which is only 2ft from my face.

@browj2 I don't think that we have discussed this here, but I'll put the question out to all of you. If you output to a lower resolution, like DVD quality, what happens when you watch it on a full HD TV? It goes full size, does it not? Does this

@Richard-Curtis Hi Richard, Yes, you understood my mess correctly. It depends on your project. Many of mine are of mixed resolution so I determine what I want as output (resolution - DVD or BR or MP4), and use that for the project. I adjust

@Former user The thread of this um, thread, seems to have got itself lost somewhere in space. But to return to the original theme, I can see the advantage of locking in the 16:9 format in order to forestall the possibility of some TV or other
