    RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Speaking personally, I would not attempt any rescaling of your original footage! In my experience, any attempt to "reformat" your video files is bound to lead to lead to some combination of distortion and/or cropping of the original

    RE: Frame size for export.
@Former user Hi Unfortunately literally all my raw stuff is recorded in 4:3 format from the 'eighties and early 'nineties, so the dilemma I face is whether to leave the edited material in 4:3 with the inevitable bars down the side when played back

    RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis This reminds me of when i first started using Magix in 2005-ish, I exported clips that had black bars down the side or across the bottom, video quality was rubbish, I ruined a lot of good clips & wasted time by not knowing what i

@johnebaker @CubeAce Hi John and Ray [For the very reason I stated above - the distortion is too much and does not make for comfortable viewing, it is better to pillar or letterbox the video then stretch it automatically to full screen with the

    RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Hi . . . . I remain puzzled that simply exporting in 16:9 format doesn't give me the stretched result I expected, because I know it has done at some other time in some other program . . . . For the very reason I stated above - the

    RE: Frame size for export.
@Richard-Curtis Hi Personally I would recommend that you do not try ii fit a 4:3 Aspect Ratio (AR) video to a 16: 9 AR by stretching the distortion is too much and does not make for comfortable viewing. To get 16:9 AR use the Section effect to

@CubeAce Hi Ray Missed the question - . . . . Which one should I be considering? . . . . BT.709 for most videos. BT.2020 for 4K UHD TV s with wide colour gamut - sometimes mistakenly called HDR which is 10 bit colour depth minimum. HTH John EB

@Reyfox The only thing I find odd about how the track layout works is if you add a track from number 1 track. Too many options just makes me fiddle where possibly I shouldn't. It does seem to handle my files better than Movie Edit Pro and faster. I

@CubeAce Referring to my zooming of the preview window when observing the sharpening effect - of course I appreciate that what matters is the overall effect when viewed full screen, but it is useful to observe close up how much it is unnaturally

@johnebaker Hi John, The OP says that this has been going on for a year, so I don't think that the new "feature" is the problem as VPX12 is very recent. Using VPX 12 to do what you did in your first video, just using the text button, not a template,

@ProMagixUser Hi, Actually, it's not clear, but enough to try it out. You really need to learn how to take a screen shot and save it as a jpeg. We do not use a camera to do that. You images are blurry, so of little use. Also, to be able to properly

@ProMagixUser It is extremely difficult for Magix to correct errors that it cannot identify. That is why it is important to document as best as possible exactly what happens, when it happens, and what may be the cause. You say that "There may be
