2013 version won't burn a dvd anymore

I have an older 2013 version that my daughter spent 3 hrs on a movie presentation that we cannot get to burn onto a DVD. We keep getting a message: MPEG-4 does not register. Plus, using the "activation" codes do not work after going through the whole process. And last...for something that says "free support service" all over my box and book, the support center is trying to charge me $12.99 to get help with my issues. How do I guarantee that will solve the problem???

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, please read this post and help us to help you by giving ALL the information requested.

Second, assuming you are using Windows 10, it is entirely possible that MEP 2013 no longer "works properly" with that OS. After all, it is now several versions old and there have been numerous updates to Windows since that version was released. A particular problem is that your DVD burner may no longer be recognised.

Third, I am somewhat confused by the error message you quote: DVD video files must be exported as MPEG-2 files; that is what the DVD specification demands. So, can you give us more details about the type and format of the files you are trying to export and burn to DVD? The free MediaInfo utility will provide this; simply download and install it and then point it to one of your source files and copy to your reply the results of the Tree view.
