2017 - How do I save takes off a long video

I have a basketball game, lets say i want to get only the shots of #5.

In my very old magix edit 14 - not 2014... I used to press "I" then STOP then "O" Then "Shift+T" and save a TAKE

Then continue on to the next part i want and do the same over and over, then Merge all them takes in the timeline and export.

HOW DO I DO IT IN Magix Movie Edit 2017 Once Ive opened a Bball Game there and wanna save takes, how do i make TAKES Folder even be created through that saving takes as i described above?.

PLEASE HELP THX

So i dont have to edit in MEP 2014 But have to waste time converting the mp4 to mpg...

Hi

The takes folder should already exist under the Import tab as shown below - note I have some custom links in the same menu which you will not have.

The procedure for saving Takes changed in MEP 2015 - to create takes drag the video to the timeline, cut/edit the video in to the required takes and use Shift+K to save each take when selected.

There is an alternative way to get the clips you want on the timeline without having to put the entire clip on to the timeline.

Play the video from the media pool in the Preview monitor, set the In and Out points as before, stop playback and drag the image in the preview monitor to the timeline, repeat as required for the same video clip or others.

Also see Data selection using the preview monitor in the installed PDF manual available under Help.
