After upgrading from movie edit pro 2021 to 2022 and opening an existing project, the project loads and then locks up. Uninstalled everything, reinstalled 2022 and the same thing happens. Uninstalled 2022 and reinstalled 2021 everything works. Any ideas on how to fix 2022.

MEP 2022 is much more demanding of its host computer than MEP 2021 was. So, did you check that your computer at least meets the minimum requirements and preferably exceeds them by some margin?

MEP 2022 is much more demanding of its host computer than MEP 2021 was.
Jeff, not in my (limited) experience (I uninstalled 2022 because it was too buggy). My system ran MEP 2022 quite happily, as well as it did on MEP 2021. I think there's a more fundamental glitch going on with 2022.
David, I'd try Resetting the program to default:
File>Settings>Reset Program Settings...
From the few days I had 2022 installed, it showed me no improvement over 2021 at all, and 2022 contains at least one nasty bug (the failed Section effect). The only significant benefit, from what I have read, is faster export times and better timeline playback due to the souped-up "engine" which better-utilises the graphics capabilities of your machine. If that is not a factor, you're not missing anything, and I'd suggest you proceed on with your project on 2021.
There is a thought that old projects may not open sometimes in newer versions. If this is the case, obviously a highly undesirable situation.
Hi David.
Before opening a project, check your program settings Display options and see what the program has set for your default options. What are they? There should be three boxes. Import: Processing; and Export. What is set in each one please?
Also apart from the additional information Jeff has requested, what resolutions and frame rates are you working at?
