2022 Platinum: audio production: audio waveform displays miniscule

how the heck can i display a useful audio waveform in order to edit. I need to be able to see the audio form. the mixer shows proper levels but i cannot even come close to discern where i am in the audio track. i have unchecked 1/2 form and checked to build audio waveform on import. how do i build the waveform if i already imported. so far there are a tone of features but i cannot use the product without seeing audio form. also how do i export audio only for podcasts? only see video options. what is comparable to render as?

Hi,

Without seeing your timeline, I'm guessing that you have video/audio on one track. Go to Program Settings, Video/Audio tab and under the Timeline area, uncheck Video/Audio on one track. Look at the other possibilities on this screen to make sure that you have what you want.

For any video objects already on the timeline, select them, Ctrl+H to put them on separate tracks. The audio will still be grouped with the video.

You can now expand the height of the track under the track header, and, of course, zoom in on the timeline.

To export to audio, just do the following.

You have two audio formats to chose from.

@browj thank you. i have confirmed audio and video tracks are separate and selected the track and clicked Ctrl+ H and verified video/audio properties for the application. fyi this is an audio only project. the waveform is very weak.it shows ticks. almost as if it is showing pre-normalization levels.

I have no issues with waveform in movie studio 16 after normalization compared to platinum 2022. platinum 2016 waveform is almost flat, just miniscule ticks. the yellow band is tall and has room. the audio mixer shows sufficient levels.
