I would be very wary Alwyn - you don't have an iGPU and your Radeon is under the minimum of 1 GB of Vram!
Still if you can keep your current copy installed when installing 2021 then it would be worth it for the Plugin Packages providing they do not overload your hardware.

All installed OK; got a warning message half way through about a file that couldn't be found. I clicked cancel and installation finished OK.
No problems with SD or HD (Apple MOVs!) so far: smooth timeline playback; no worse than version 19. Export times seem about the same so far (ie slow! 🙂)
For those thinking of "upgrading", this upgrade will completely remove your 2020 (Version 19) copy; however, you do get the option of a complete refund for 14 days, so if you have doubts, I suggest you take a full system image so you can revert back if needed (remember you do not get any updates if you re-install from the Magix website). I assume you would have to get the full version of 2021 if you wanted to keep 2020.
Another observation is that the program starts much faster than V19, and doesn't freeze and hog the Internet for minutes like it did before (Store check?).
I'm also getting 48fps Smart Render DV-AVI with MEP 2021 as opposed to 38fps with MEP 2020, so despite my system not having any of the gizmos ie igpu nor useable GPU, something's been hotted-up.
I'm also tempted by this offer. Before I purchase, I'd like to know some things from those who are better informed.
1) I went through this topic and noticed, that some users had problems with the new version: MEP crashes or freezes, slower exports etc. Do these problems still exist?
2) My current version is 17.0.3.184. If I'm correct, this new version is not an upgrade to that, but a whole new program. Does this mean that I can't get my "add-ons" (HitFilm & NewBlue styles, effects etc.) from my current version to new version?
3) I'm having some occasional problems with my current version: sometimes MEP crashes when I click the Effects-tab; sometimes Intel driver needs to be updated (these problems are discussed elsewhere in this forum). Could these problems be history if I install the new version?
4) Is there something I couldn't do with a new version that I can do my current version?

In answer to your questions and from my own personal experience.
1: Yes sometimes on complex projects. The more a program can do with a machine the more I push the limits.
2: I've honestly no idea as you are jumping versions. I have all my old third party plugins that still work under the new version but I upgraded each year.
3: Really there are no guarantees as each PC differs in the parts used.
4: Not that I'm aware of although opening an old project and saving it without giving it a new name could mean you can no longer open it in an older copy of MEP.

I bought the new version and everything that came with it. The installation of the actual program and "added content" went fine, and the program seems to work ok. What was really surprising was that the installation didn't uninstall my previous version, which was MEP Plus 2018 or something. Does that mean that I now have two versions in my use? Could I possibly move that other version to another computer?
Unfortunately, I've had problems with the "extras" that came with the offer. I managed to install and activate ProDAD Hide V1, but I was surprised that it isn't in the MEP, but a program of its own. Or should I be able to use it within MEP?
The other extra stuff (proDAD Mercalli V5 Suite, FXhome Enhance Ultra & NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate) are all installed (according to Control Panel / Programs), but not working. Before I go into details, I'd like to know if this is the right place to ask help or should I start a new topic?

Unfortunately I did not have sufficient funds to purchase in time but congratulation to you.
You may have bought the new version outright rather than upgrading so you could have two versions registered. If both appear in your personal area then yes, I don't see why not if you have the available slots to add the program to another computer.
Some add-ons are stand alone only. Pro Dad Re Speeder I think was another one.
Third party plugins must be registered with the program makers and not with Magix once installed to work.
I have no problem with you posting here but technically you maybe should have started a separate topic.

It does, however be aware, as @CubeAce has commented, that if you load a MEP 2018 project into MEP 2021 and then save overwriting the original you may get error messages saying that an effect or file cannot be found if you try to load it again into 2018 - for older projects I give them a new name to indicate the program eg add 2021 to the name.

Looking at the Hide plugin on their own website I notice there are two versions. One is a lifetime license and the other is for one year. Do not be surprised if the one coming with MEP is the one year version. This has happened with other previous offered Pro-Dad plugins.

The Magix bargain said that Hides value is £399 (I can't remember what was mine in euros, but probably the same). I think that refers to the lifetime version.

That is the value of the full version but it doesn't say that one is supplied even though it may infer it. I will wait and see. Advertising can be tricky as it is all in the wording. Actually it should say in the license agreement with the plugin.

From what I've seen on the Vegas forum, many plugins seem to disappear with a new version. I have seen several complaints about this, usually with the explanation that that is the way it is.
I have not lost any plugins, so far as I know, with MEP/VPX, and they all work in both.

You should not have lost Respeedr, I obtained the program with MEP 2019 and it is a full standalone version, I have it installed on the desktop without MEP being installed.
I also reinstalled Win 10 on the laptop and again had no problem installing ReSpeedr 1.0,
I note that ProDAD Hide also states that is is a full SAl version, without reference to any time limitations
