Since the upgrade to the latest version the 3d Templates show in the work area but when you select them it appears they will not work. It seems not to be able to locate the files.
Unfortunately, without a lot more information from you we have very little likelihood of being able to help you! We know nothing about your computer nor even the exact version of VPX which you are using! Please read this post and supply all the information requested.
I don't ever use the 3D facility in VPX so I am not sure what you mean by the "3D templates"? Again, we need to know exactly what you are wanting to do, what you have tried and with what success, or otherwise.
Thank you for the additional information, especially the fact that you are actually asking about 3D Title Templates, not as you originally wrote, 3D Templates!
You say you are running Windows 10, but exactly which version, the latest is 1709? Your version of VPX is the latest.
I've just tested a 3D Title Template on my system and it can be selected, opens, is editable and displays without problem so I think your problem is not something that the latest update has caused. Can you check the following location on your computer, where the 3D Title Templates are stored: C:\ProgramData\Magix\Video Pro X\8\Titles\X3D. On my computer that folder contains 3 sub-folders, named "Animated", "Decorative" and "Static"; each of these contains the constituents of the various 3D titles?
I just checked on my system and they also work with no problem. Could you describe the process you go through to try to set up a title using the templates, as that might help to understand your problem.
If the files are located in the same place on your computer as on mine, I really don't know what to suggest!
Just as a test, I created a new, blank project, selected the first 3D Title template, previewed it and then clicked to insert it, and the 3D title editor screen opened!
How long are you waiting after clicking an icon? Depending on the spec of your computer (which we still don't know!!) it could be that you are simply not allowing VPX enough time to open the needed files.
drag video or photo to timeline. Select the title and insert or try to drag. When select to insert it says: Failed to open:...... try to play the title it says : The file format of C:......cannot be read! Please make sure that the drive is not full or write protected. If you have the authorization to write or read from this path, please contact the administrator.
I have everything checked and no problems with that concerning privilege.
Do you get the same result if you do what I did, create a new project and simply try to insert a 3D title without having anything else on the timeline?
From reading posts in this and other forums I know it is not uncommon for a Windows update to "reset" certain file permissions to what it "thinks" is best for the user and without asking for the user's permission to do so! I think your Properties>Security tab for any of the files in Program Data should look like mine below:
If it does, then I'm stumped; if it doesn't then you will need to press the Advanced button and try setting the permissions to what you need them to be.
Please see if you can find a way to make this function work
But I have, so it does!!
I think you may not be aware this is NOT the Magix Support service, but a user to user forum! None of us who post regularly are Magix employees, merely fellow-users who try to assist others with their specific problems. There are occasional posts from Magix staff but these are the exceptions rather than the rule.
If no other user can suggest a possible solution I think you need to raise a Support Ticket here.
