Hi

What version of Windows are you using?

If it is Windows 8 then it is very unlikely you will get this working - MEP 14 is not Windows 8 compatible.  Note Windows 8 by default does not support mpg playback - you need a seperate player eg VLC.

If Windows 7 or earlier then you should not need the computerid - you should be able to activate online providing MEP can access the Internet - check your firewall settings.

i do have windows7 so i do need the computer id, maybe im not doing something right. not sure at the moment. i cant remember if i had this same problem when i first got the product. i think i may have had to change the computer id once to get it working, then i can change it back. we'll see, thanks for the response!

Hi

. . . . i think i may have had to change the computer id once to get it working, then i can change it back . . .

That will not make the software work because the computer id is a unique number generated by the software.

Many programs generate a uniques id from combinations of the hardware ids of for example the motherboard, hard and processor and Windows id's.

Is it only the mpg that will not activate or the whole program?

Do you get the registration window popping up each time you start the program?
