@Stephen-Staneland Try a right click on the program icon and run as administrator. Does this help?

Unfortunately no. I've already tried that. This happened 1 other time as well - when Sony still had customer service-. They emailed me back about how to fix it. The registry needs to be edited and lines deleted, but I can't remember which ones. Thanks for trying.

Your mention of Sony leads me to wonder exactly which version of SF do you have? Sound Forge has not been a Sony product for at least five years.

That 'sounds' to me like the 'Elevated Privilege' issue which is relatively common with the SF-10 / Win 10 combo. See this post.
