Activation of HVEC-Codec Feature

Fergal1 wrote on 2/27/2026, 2:27 PM

Hi all, I had this activated on a previous computer. I've a video from an iphone that I want to edit.

It's probably the first time doing it on a new PC.

It says I need to activate the HVEC-Codec.

I had the orginal order number and it had the computer number.

It seemed to go off and do its job and sent an email with the new number I need to enter except it didn't

Anything I can do. It's a real pain. I had loads of issues the last time I activated it.

Its seems a terribly clunky and stupid process that should be included in the price of the software. Its one of those things that really makes me give up on Magix after an awful long time using the software. I don't care about Codex's. I don't know what they are. I just want the software to work. iPhone is the biggest phone in the world, it should just work.

Anyone got any ideas of what is going wrong and is there anything I can do.

@Fergal1

HI

The same as when you had the issue before, you need contact Magix by email to infoservice@magix.net giving details of the purchase etc.

Response times are extended at the moment, if you get an email from the AI Support system, offering solutions which do not apply, reply to it stating so. If you get into a loop with the AI bot, keep responding until you receive an email that starts something like this:

Hello and welcome to MAGIX,

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, our automated processing system was unable to find any relevant results for your request. Either there are no corresponding entries in our knowledge base, or the information you provided is insufficient to process your request.

Please reply to this email with a more detailed description of your request and keep the subject line unchanged.

I would suggest you convert the video to h.264 encoding using a video converter such as Handbrake or Avidemux.
