Alpha masks missing

Hi

Please do not abbreviate the program year designation, ie from the version number, you have the Premium version, sometimes called Movie Edit Pro 2017 or MEP 2017, this causes confusion with older version Movie Edit Pro 17.

From the version number, you are missing several patches - the latest is 16.0.3.66.

Which folder are you looking in? Mine are in

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2017\VideoEffects\EffectAlphaMasks

There are SD and HD masks there.

Yes if you have an image editing program - masks are black and white images, jpg or png, here is a screen shot of some of mine - note I keep these in a separate folder from the Magix masks.

If you use png images you can also set a transparency and extend the usage of the masks - see this tutorial for an example which is difficult using a straight black/white mask.

There are many web sites that offer free masks - use Google to search for them.

You can also created video masks if the video source is suitable - MEP 2017 has a Mask generator effect and you can create them manually as well.

Thank you for the reply, John. The storage for the alphamask folder is c:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro\2017\VideoEffects\EffectAlphaMasks\
As far as it being Premium, I have no idea and no longer remember. I looked in my Magix account at the purchase date and program, and it just has "Movie Edit Pro (2017)"
I've been using Video de Luxe and Movie Edit Pro for 10 years, but never tried using the masks before, so I really didn't even know if I was supposed to have them 😕 BTW here's what's in the help menu, doesn't say "premium", but ???? Do you mean that the masks are only with Premium Edition?

Hi,

It looks like you have the basic version of MEP, not even the Plus version. I don't believe that the masks come with the basic version, only Plus and Premium, along with many other things. It is really quite limited in features.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing . I've been at it for about 4 hours and 11 E-mails now. Although I am certain there is a person at the other end, I get the feeling nobody reads past the first sentence. The last offer (after a coupon code that wasn't accepted on the site) was to cancel my purchase of the Basic Version, so I could then order (I kid you not, this is what they wrote) a Basic Version (?!?).
help !!
I'm gonna go get an ice cream cone and see what the newest suggestion they have is. :) I'll let you know what happens if you want.😭

It's Monday, they need more coffee. Just a slip of the keyboard. I'm surprised they replied so fast. Yes, in the past I believe that I had an order cancelled, refunded, and I ordered the higher version. Are you getting Plus or Premium? Plus is on sale right now and is a good deal.

The problem is that there are two nice add-ons, NewBlue Essentials 4 and HitFilm SuperHero pack, with Plus that are not offered with Premium, which is just annoying. Premium has the NewBlue Titler lite and Vasco da Gama lite (the vernacular for not fully featured or no sugar), so you have to decide what you would need the most, some nice effects or the Titler (which is quite good) and VdG. Ideally, all 4 would come with Premium at the price that they are charging.

I have the fully blown VdG v10 plus StreetMaps 6 from MotionStudios so I am biased towards getting VdG for people who have done a lot of travelling and like to show the routes on the globe or a map. It's just that the version offered is limited and I don't know what those limits are.

Actually I got NB Essentials & HitFilm packs with the basic (some kind of special offer in February) but I'm ordering the Plus anyway.
Newest E-mail, tells me what I paid for the Basic (which I didn't remember) but doesn't tell me how they are going to make that a credit against buying Plus. This makes 14 received E-mails now including all the confirmation e-mails. I think my head hurts.

Finally got clear on what and how and everything. Have ordered Plus and they tell me they will credit my original payment to my credit card. That was a nice surprise. I didn't think they would credit the whole amount. It means that the Plus costs me only €30 more and not €60. Whoopee! Downloading now.

Just to put the cherry on top, I got it installed, pasted in the Serial ' and got "Sorry, this is the wrong serial number for this product. 😤😱😠 Wrote immediately of course, and got another E-mail this morning with an apology and instructions and now it works. Downloading extra content now (this could take a while) and then the HitFilm and NewBlue installations will follow. Plus check for a general update. Thanks for your help.
