Any point to patching MEP 2016 past 107?

pmikep wrote on 8/23/2017, 12:40 PM

So, I manually checked for an update to MEP Plus 2016 today and was surprised to find, at this late date (mid-2017), that there was a patch. (.114) When I started the patch process and got the information window, it said that the only change was better "contact" ability in MEP.

Sounds more like Marketing stuff than real performance improvements. I recall reading a post here that someone wasn't happy with the latest MEP 2017 patch, that took a previous feature and turned it into a hyerlink instead.

I'm currently at .107. Is there any real benefit to updating to this latest patch?

Started with MEP 11, then 17, then MX, then MEP 2013, 2015, then 2016. Changed to the fast competitor after that, which worked fine with my non-Intel hardware. Then bought a used Dell with an Intel GPU, just to play with MEP again. Installed MEP 2020 Plus in March 2020, even tho I don't like losing patches if I have to reinstall after a year.

Testing on a Dell Vostro, <s>i3-8100</s> updated to i5-9400 w/ UHD 630, 16 GB 2400 DDR4 (CL15), Win10 Home, heavily NTLite'd. Now with GTX-1650 Super OC'd. Added a WD Blue M.2 for OS (PCIe 3), Apps, Temps and Video-In. 2 Monitors. A WD Blue SSD for outputs. (SATA III.)

Hi,

Interesting. Here are the important changes:

* New: Connect – Stay up to date with the latest information on MAGIX
products, offers, coupons and more

Sounds like only marketing to me. I'll take a pass on this until someone actually installs it and says that everything works ok.

Hi

Youtube can be very temperamental - try exporting the project as a mp4 video and use the Youtube uploader to upload the exported file.

Your video shows that you are attempting to access the YT uploader whilst MEP is still open. I'm pretty certain that is not what John meant! Try closing MEP following the export of your movie and then try uploading to YT.

MEP/VPX are not the only video editing programs which experience annoying problems when attempting to upload to YT from within the editor! The solution is always, in my experience, to upload via your browser.
