The cheapest way is to wait until Sound Forge is available again at Humble Bundle or Fanatical. There you can usually get as older version for about $25. But it doesn't happen often, maybe twice a year. I suggest you subscribe to their software bundle newsletters sent out by Humble Bundle and Fanatical.
