I am currently using Magix Edit Pro 17 Plus version.
As mentioned before by others, within the forum, the final burn produces a DVD with audio out of sync with the video. The out of sync gets worse as the video progresses. I have ensured the video and audio are in sync within the time line before burning.
Here is what I have tried to correct this problem:
1) Exported in many different formats except AVI since the file size is prohibitive.
2) Recalculated the mpeg frame tables before burning.
3) Tried time shifting the audio segments.
4) Exported the audio only as a WAV file creating one large WAV file and then deleted the audio already used in time line. After deletion of audio I added the WAV file back into the time line. This provided a perfect sync during edit mode but still out of sync when burned.
Observation.........
I personally thought the last try would be successful since it took all the audio and placed it into one large contiguous file. However the video portion is still a collection of converted VOB files. I made sure the frame rate tables were recreated just before burning.
Here is what I noticed: When I clicked on the burn button the first thing the program did was recreate the frame tables. I believe one for each one of the VOB video segments and then proceeded to mix down for burning. Is this causing the time shift in audio? Not sure.
Were I am now is removing all audio from time line, including the WAV file, and just exporting the video alone as an Mpg4 file. After creation I should have one contiguous video file for use. Then I am planning on taking the Mpg4 and marrying it with the WAV which is also one contiguous file. After I will make sure it appears in sync within the editor then I will attempt another burn.
Years ago I had this same problem with Pinnacle Studio 9 and 10 but it got resolved though updates from Pinnacle. Studio's work-around was to combine the video clips (VOB's) in this case and then burn the time line. Studio had the abilty to combine clips within the editor. I just hope Magix recognizes this problem and is working on a solution. Perhaps there is already a work around and I have not figured it out yet.
If anyone else has had success correcting this problem please let me know since I am quite frustrated with Magix at the moment. There is much I really like about the Magix software but if it cannot produce an in-sync DVD then I cannot use it.
Thanks Dave
