Audio slowly creeps ahead of video

Hey all,

I'm using MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2014, and I've noticed that whenever I'm working on a long project (30+ minutes), the audio is clearly creeping ahead of the video.  On really long projects (1+ hours), the audio can get to be full seconds ahead of the video.

I use programs such as FRAPs and Xsplit to record my desktop and gameplay videos which I then import into MEP'14 to edit/render.  The original video files are completely synced, so I know it is a MEP issue and not an issue with my recording software.  I have tried adjusting the project framerate and audio kbps and can't seem to figure out where the issue lies.

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I ended up reinstalling the program and it works again.  It is possible I changed some setting by accident somewhere and messed things up, but I'm glad it works now!

Edit again:  After updating the program to its most recent version, the issue returned.  Whatever is causing the problem exists in the update.

This problem often occurs with mpg files and can be fixed by right clicking the clips on the timeline and selecting Create frametable (new)

Note: you cannot use this method if the files are mp4 - they do not use frametables.

The problem can, although rarely, also occur when you are changing framerates eg 29.97fps to 30 fps and is more difficult to fix.

Yyou could try ungrouping the audio from the video and using the mouse Stretch mode to bring the audio back into line with the video (this will only work on very long clips)

Thank you for your response johnebaker,

The file is mp4 format, so what you say is correct.  I have tried the Create New Frametable and it does not work.  I believe it may be a framerate issue, but both the original video and my project settings are both 30fps, so if it is, I don't know where the problem is popping up.

Edit:  I just pulled up my recent large project.  The video is 1:48:46, and by separating the audio and video tracks, and changing the audio's tempo from 120.0 to 199.955, it syncs the entire video perfectly.  Where could that extra 0.045 be coming from?
