Audio track seperation

I have MEP 16.04.124. Recently, when I import a video clip into timeline mode, the clip seperates into video on line 1 and audio on lines 2 and 3. I can get 1 line of audio back onto the video object by right clicking-audio functions-restore original sound. However, that only brings up 1 line of audio, leaving the 2nd audio line as a separate object. How do I get both audio objects restored to the video object?

However, I'm not sure how MEP will handle your 2 different audio tracks. I think it will use only one? What is the source and format of your imported video files? It would appear, from what you write, they include some type of multichannel audio. So, are you creating something like 5.1 Surround video?

Assuming the video clip has two audio streams present, eg a game screen recording with commentary, then Movie Edit pro will only use stream 1 by default which in your case is the audio stream you merged back into the video, the second audio stream will not be used unless you can switch which track is used if it is supported in MEP 2017.

A MediaInfo analysis of the video clip would confirm this, post the results from the Text view.

In MEP 2020 - the option is as shown below when you right click the clip

You cannot merge the audio streams, however a work around, if you can change tracks, is to:

select the second track and select File, Export movie, Audio as wav and save the audio track
select audio track 1 again
import the saved wav file directly the video clip,

When you playback you should now hear the original audio track 1 and audio track 2 combined.
