Hi,

Which version of MEP (year and basic or Plus/Premium)?

Did you first select a video clip before going to Effects, Video object effects? If you have not selected (highlighted) a video clip then the effect is not available. It won't work if you selected a photo; it has to be a video clip.

Thanks for responding.  I have Movie Edit Pro 16.  I'm working on a just- loaded home movie DVD.  Taking a hint from your suggestion, I Cut the entire video at an early point.  Low and behold, the Scene Recognition feature appeared  for the rest of the video. Thanks again.
