Backup Steals My Mouse

I've noticed odd behaviour as MEP does it's auto-backup. The mouse jumps to the centre of the screen (coincident with a couple of flashes of white; a fleeting backup message, perhaps?) and then, when I try to move the mouse back to what I was doing, it takes the Play marker with it. In doing so, it zoomed my timeline and changed the fade at the end of a clip. I have to click somewhere to release the Play marker. Annoying.

Any other takers?

Click you Avatar at the top right and select My profile, Signature is near the bottom of the page.

Hi AA.

I sometimes get a sticky mouse action where if I'm dragging something across the screen, the mouse won't let go of the object once I release the left mouse button. Happens with slider controls sometimes as well.

This happens to me often with VPX. If I'm dragging something or moving the playback marker when autobackup hits, away it goes. I should have put this on the bug list.

Good to see you back. It's been a long time without frameserving.....tee hee! Ahh......takes me back to Movie Edit Pro 2004, or was it 2005.

Yes the sticky mouse pointer after autosave has been widely reported but mine disappears completely although it can still activate stuff if you can find it. Latest is when dragging volume down and it only comes back if you can get it back on the object and click again. Very tricky and very annoying.

@Scenestealer Thanks Peter! Yes, that long ago when MEP couldn't handle MPEGs. Now it loves them! I'm trying,unsuccessfully, so far, to get frameserving going again but I think 64-bit Windows is throwing a spanner into the works.

Yes it is unfortunately. Behaviour is as I reported back in May - to clarify it sticks to the playhead if you are trying to drag it when autosave strikes and a subsequent left click releases it - but the worst is the disappearing when you are dragging the volume slider in the track and a save occurs. I can only locate it by moving the mouse downwards so that it triggers the auto hide of the task bar and then it appears fleetingly and if you are lucky you can left click and move it back onto the volume slider and return the slider to 0dB where upon it behaves normally!!

Yes, the 48 to 44.1 khz thing stuffed it up when trying to burn an Mpeg2 file - so you could create a DV-AVI okay but the sound went out of sync on the Mpeg....
