Best format to export and reuse the video file in MEP2014plus

Juplas wrote on 2/18/2014, 5:26 AM

Hello,

I’m using separate projects (in MEP 2014 plus) to make one final video at the end (otherwise editing only one movie gets too slow). I think that this is the quite common way…

Video files are captured with AVERMEDIA Game Broadcaster 1920x1080p25 via HDMI port of the video camera (mp4 format).

This means that I have to export (sometimes the same source file) video from other projects and then collect them into one project and then export the final one.

Q1: What is the best format to do that (1920x1080 25 frame) without losing quality as less as possible (mp4, m2ts or something else)?

Q2: Do you recommend to pay attention for some settings e.g. to unselect  “Apply anti-interlace filter (suppresses flickering)” until exporting the final video et cetera…?

Thanks,
Juplas

Hi,

The best format to export is AVCHD or m2ts or mts this is all the same. If you use mp4 you loose quality but this remains acceptable. Use high quality picture and bitrate as you can.

Hi

. . . . best format to export is AVCHD or m2ts or mts . . . .

Here I disagree with Y-R - the native MXV format is better.

The AVCHD/mts/m2ts format is subjected to a higher compression factor than the MXV format such that the file size is approx 65% the size of the MXV - the missing 35% is data that has been lost.

Hi,

The best way is to capture with no compression a video file. If you export from Magix the MXV file format offer the maximum quality but if you export from Avermedia software or another system this system cannot generate MXV format because is a Magix specific format and the only choice is to generate a AVI non compressed file. Check the size of this. In MEP you have choice to export like the screen capture.

Probably we have read the question differently (interpretation)

Hi,

Video files are captured for this project from Avermedia software already so I have to deal with that now.
Anyway I didn’t know that Magix has its own MXV format so this is the answer to my question.
Thank you all for the replies.
