@James-Staake

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Like most, if not all, Magix products Music Maker can be activated on a maximum of two devices simultaneously so, unless you deactivated the software on your old desktop computer, the registration server will not allow you to register and activate it on your new desktop.

The easiest method of resolving this is to go to your Magix Account, log in, go to My Products and find the listing for Music Maker. You will find two devices listed as activated, your laptop and your old desktop; select the latter and Deactivate it. Then go back to your new desktop and you should be able to activate its installation without problem.

I tried that, it still will not work. Does it just take while for the MAGIX system to acknowledge the change?

@James-Staake

. . . .  it is telling me that someone already has this on their computer . . . .

Was the full error message:

Error -24, serial number has already been registered to another email address

If so, are you using the same email address the software was originally registered with?

If yes, which version and variant (Free, Plus or Premium) of Music Maker are you trying to register.

Where did you purchase the program from? If not direct from Magix was it purchased as new?

Quite possibly, yes. Have you tried going back into your account and checking that the deactivation has been recorded?
