Movie Edit Pro (MEP) can do all this however I would would suggest you look at these tutorials

There are also many othe MEP tutorials in the Tutorials section, some for older versions however the principles are still the same.

In addition to what @johnebaker wrote, I note you said can I burn them to dvd & bluray so that I can play them in my home dvd player.  To be clear, you certainly can play DVDs in your DVD player but not Blu-ray discs, unless you actually have a Blu-ray player.
