burned dvd has scenes inserted in wrong place

I have read what seems to be a similar problem on the posts but they were very confusing. I have used MEP to make small projects without any problems. However, after making an hour long movie that previews well, the burned dvd has added very short scenes taken from near the end of the project and put them randomly near the front. I do not want to waste anymore dvd's trying to make it right. What am I doing wrong?

You may want to set scene or chapter markers to keep the movie in order. I can't imagine why this is happening but you are not the first to complain about it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I tried that before posting my question. I am thinking there may be a software bug in the 2013. What do you think?  I may go back to Microsoft Movie Maker before I go crazy.

Hi

I would suspect that you have some stray clips that you may not see when playing back in the preview window, especially if they are near a transition.

You need to locate each section of the timeline where thay appear and zoom in at that point.  If there is a stray object you should be able to see it as shown below - note it may be on several tracks below the video track.

To save money and avoid coasters - try writing to quality rewriteable discs first.  If the DVD needs changes, often happens you spot something on the TV, then you can re-use the disc.

Once you have a good disc that plays correctly then use DVD copying software such as Nero (paid for) or ImgBurn (freeware) to copy the rewriteable to DVD-R (do not need to use MEP).

Once you have good copies which play OK you can then reuse the rewriteable for the next project.

John, I have compared the two videos- preview and burned and found the point where a rogue clip was inserted was just after the title ended. The title track had two AB boxes. After deleting the title and redoing it, it only has one AB. I will try and find a DVD-RW and try again. Will let you know.

Success! Made a new dvd (using encode all & checking both rewrite boxes). It took away the added rogue scene but I noticed the word "title" near the end. Was able to easily take that out and redo. Not sure why the Title feature caused the extra problems but I am happy with the finished product. Thank you!
