Can add custom Transition effects?

Basheer wrote on 6/22/2020, 7:42 AM

Please find attached the Preview of the video I purchased from elements.envato.com. this is a widely used transition Method.

How to use the same in MAGIX movie edit pro premium? How to transition the scene asper the leaves moving? The leaf has to wipe the Screen A so screen B underneath will become visible.

Thank you very much for your super fast reply. really appreciated.

The video explains nicely how to make a custom transition by using a video and how to save the same for future use.

But I did not understand How to transition the scene asper the leaves moving? in my requirement, the leaves are wiping the screen A to B. in this video explains about transition effect through somewhat brightness adjustment.

Hi,

I don't see what your first video has to do with the leaves transition. Please explain? The tutorial shows rotoscoping, probably with After Effects. The same can be done with Xara Designer Pro X or Xara Photo & Graphics Designer, opened from within MEP. See my tutorials on this. This is not a widely used transition effect. Look at the work required to make it. A link to the entire tutorial would help.

The leaf transition pack is for one of the programs listed on the site, After Effects, Premier Pro, Apple Motion, Final Cut Pro - nothing for Magix video products. I doubt that you can use the effects. We would have to see the files that come with it to see if anything is usable. So, what did you actually buy?

Hi

What format are the leaf transition files in?

AFAICS they are a video file format that supports Alpha channel - probably AVI files.

If they are you can use these directly in MEP however you would have to use a Wipe transition between the A and B and hide the joint hidden behind the leaves which would overlay the both A and B.

Here is a quick example

Thank you very much for your replay.

The purchased file is very big to attach. This is not a project file. just a video file. A lower-resolution version the same is attached.,

"Wipe transition between the A and B and hide the joint hidden behind the leaves which would overlay the both A and B"

How to do a Wipe transition between A and B? keyframing did not help at the first attempt.

@Basheer

What is the format of the transition video? AVI or MOV?

Here is a screenshot of what to try.

Make the glide transition on track 1. Open the transition settings and adjust to go in the direction of your leaf video. Put the leaf vide on track 2 or 3 at the location of the transition. Adjust the location and the duration of the transition to suit. If the leaf video is transparent, you will see it overtop of whatever is on track 1, like in my image showing beachballs.

That is a good idea. I did the same way you said except for the transition thing.

So here the clip B has to remove clip A like wiping. I did not see any option in Standard transitions (click on the transition icon) or templates. Sliding B on A is available but not Wiping. can you please advise?

Blur Transition is almost matching but it is somewhat transparent and I can see clip A through clip B until it finishes the transition. please find the below image.

@Basheer

I think the wipes up / down and sideways are a separate pack from the shop.

If you have them they should show up in the Templates section.

If you don't have those they will show up in the store content. They are some of the cheapest sets to buy.

Hi

The Bur wipe has a broad transparency range to give the blurred look and as you have seen is difficult to cover.

You should have all the Transition templates - alternatives, as the leaves overlay is quite wide, is to use the Movement Basics, Wave 1, Wave 2 or Wipe , the 2 waves have the sharpest edge and may need a little adjustment with the overlay (leaves) Size/Position to keep the curve covered, the Wipe has less of a blur then the Blur wipe - see image below

Assuming that you downloaded and installed the extra content under Help, Download extra content, then you should have the transitions shown in my image. Gliding should be under Transitions Basic.

Sorry, I had dismissed the other wipes as they showed only one direction of travel.

That can be changed once in place by right clicking on the wipe in the time line and choose Settings.

From there you can choose which direction of travel and how the wipe is applied.
