Can I sell songs made with Music Maker MX (not the Platinum version) AND ONLY 3rd party royalty free loops and samples without purchasing any sort of license from Magix?

I have searched the forums and still cannot be sure if I can use MM MX (not Platinum) as just a platform to create my songs while using all the royalty free loops and samples I've acquired over the years.  I like the user interface aspects of the Magix products very much, but I could do without all the licensing issues.  I have found other production platforms that have no licensing issues, but they aren't as user-friendly.  My plan is to build songs with MM MX (not Platinum) and my royalty free content and then save them as .wav or .mp3 files to be sold.  Also, if I need to sell these files in another format (OGG, FLAC, etc.), would that have any impact on my efforts?  Thank you one and all for your help.

Hi,

I am no copywrite lawyer, but my understanding of the Music Maker license is that you do not have the right to use any of the content for commercial purposes because it is a consumer product.  I further understand that if you want to use a product for music commercially you need to buy the professional product which is called Samplitude which does contain a commercial license and you would also need to buy the commercial version for anything you purchase from Catooh.

Hi

Just to correct George's post - you can  buy a commercial licence for the sounds you use which are part of MMM from Catooh.

It is not necessary to  move up to Samplitude.

If you do not use any of the sound pools which come with MMM and you have used Royalty free loops and samples only or loops/tracks created by yourself using the synthesizers and composed by yourself,  then there  should be no problem - for the Royalty free loops  you may need to  prove that the sounds/loops are royalty free if challenged.
