Looking at the image you posted, the colours are somewhat off, in the Preview Monitor, the program panes appear to be more normal, though not quite right as you indicate in your post.

Do the colours, in particular red, appear 'off' in other programs?

Possible causes are:-

• Colour settings in Windows applied for Accessibility needs.
   
• Night Light in Settings, System, Display is turned on
   
• The monitor has been adjusted / calibrated incorrectly, either in Windows, Calibration software, the graphic card control panel - if there is one, or the monitor itself?
   
• The monitor is faulty.

With respect to the Preview Monitor only:

I see the same as in your image when I switch the Preview Monitor to Anaglyph mode, one of the methods used for 3D/Stereo video.

Check that you have not accidentally switched to Anaglyph mode, this is very easy, the keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + . (period). Click the 'Hamburger' icon top left of the preview monitor to see its settings.

The color in the screenshots, as you see, is what I see see in Irfanview and Photoshop. But red and yellow in general are correct in the other softwares.

I just made a screenshot of your comment of the Anaglyph mode access (since I'm not familiar with it). Where on the Movie Studio screen is it? I take it the same keyboard shortcut also reverses it?

I still see Movie Edit Pro listed here. Movie Studio is too "advanced" for my aging brain, and I miss the MEP interface (just don't miss the glitches). I also had better luck with the old video stabilization in the old software, something I too often need to do. (I had to read the Manual to re-learn how to use that tool.😬)

Does this mean you see the colour issue only in IrfanView and Photshop, and the only problem in Movie Studio/Video Deluxe is the poor visibility of the yellow text border in the Preview Monitor?

If so this would suggest:

IrfanView and Photoshop, are set to a different colour space to the monitor, eg IrfanView and Photoshop are in Adobe RGB and the monitor is displaying in the sRGB colour space.

The yellow border issue is due to the prro contrast between the text border and the predominantly pale background.

Personally I only use yellow text against a blue background, adding a fine black border 1 -2 px wide. For a light background as seen in your image, I would use a fine black border to separate it from the background

The Anaglyph shortcut is not a toggle action, click the three bars icon indicated by the yellow arrow in the image below,

As you can see the Standard mode short cut is . (period on the main keyboard), not the number pad to the right if you have one.

The setting the Preview Monitor is using should have a tick (check) mark to show which option is the active setting

I also see the "colour issue" in Movie Studio .... and in the export to mp4, as well as in the screenshots.

I was experimenting, hoping the yellow border might make the red show redder. I played with the Movie Studio color wheel again today. Still couldn't get red to show as red.

You got a good *red* in your screenshot .

OK. I made sure the glyph thing was off, and I got a better red. Making the border red as well also helps. Thanks for your help and all the info.

I know this isn't the purpose of this forum, but I need to repeat my question about Movie Edit Pro versions that I see being referred to on this website. Some time ago, I tried the "Easy" version, but it wasn't enough for me. 😐 So, is there an MEP version that others are posting about that I can download or see if I have the install file? 🤓

Hi Kami,

I assume from your description of the "Easy" version, you're referring to VideoEasy, which is very much a cut-down, very simple video editor.

Movie Edit Pro (MEP) was rebadged in, I think, 2022 or 2023, as Magix Movie Studio (MMS) and then, most recently as Magix Video Deluxe (VdL). Essentially, the "different" programs are simply later versions of the same thing! The only "version" currently downloadable directly from Magix is Video Deluxe 2026 though, if you go to your account, log in and go to My products you will find a list of all the versions you have previously purchased, along with download links and serial keys.

Hi again Kami,

I assume you mean that your account shows only MMS 2023 Platinum? If so, that is because it is the only Magix software you currently own, apparently. Your account will not show any potential upgrades (i.e. "new" versions). For detail on these you need to go this page and its linked pages where you can find full details of the latest version, comparison of its editions, and how much it would cost to upgrade.

However, I know you have been a MEP user for a number of years so I am surprised if MMS 2023 Platinum is really the only software listed for you. Or, have you ever created a second account for any reason, not a second forum account but a second Magix (sales) account?
