a while back I tried the 2021 version on W7 PC, no good so refunded. Now have W10 PC running and cannot load 2020 version, just crashes. Thought I would try Trial Version of 2021 but am told it has expired, guess due previous attempt on old PC.. Help, I want to make sure it runs before I purchase.

A lot will depend on how well specified your PC is and meets all of the programs minimum component requirements and preferably exceeds them as well as making sure your system is completely up to date with the operating system and GPU drivers.
All the current Windows updates and GPU driver update numbers you will find by clicking on my Signature underneath.
While the program may run if some of the specifications are not met it is not advised by the forum members here and possibly won't be a peasant experience.

In theory the program should work very well but there are caveats.
MEP does not like or handle variable frame rate video that well and sometimes not at all, so footage from newer iPhones etc have to be converted to constant frame rate before use. The same goes for some game capture footage. A lot of video editors do not like or cope with variable frame rate footage. Movie Edit Pro in that sense is no different.
