Cannot open the backup file, because there is a Green Screen file

lukmanhh wrote on 6/18/2020, 12:57 AM

I have a backup file (Magix Pro X 11), and I want to open it with Magix Pro X 12, a warning appears about Green Screen. After I press OK, the program exits, and so on. Have any of your friends experienced it? Thanks.

@lukmanhh

I am a little confused by your post!

You say you have a back up file (Magix Pro X 11). Do you mean it was created in VPX 11? Why is this a "back up"? Is it because the original file is somehow corrupted or damaged?

Did you use Chromakey in it? If so, I have absolutely no idea why that should cause the file to make VPX12 crash. I don't think I have any files with Chromakey, created in VPX11, that I can test by opening in VPX12 but I will check later.

Hi

I cannot replicate this with a project from Video Pro X (VPX) 11 in VPX 12.

The error message would suggest the file is from an earlier version, possibly pre VPX 7 or Movie Edit Pro 2015.

Did you have an earlier version of either of these programs before VPX11.

@emmrecs @johnebaker

I'm sorry maybe because my English is not good, so it makes you confused.

Every time I finish my editing work, I always make a backup file, and I save it on an external HDD, even since 2018. I am a loyal VPX customer and user.

When I edited my backup file again, and opened it using VPX 12 there was a crash, which is a message like the one above.

I no longer have the previous version of VPX.

Thanks.

@lukmanhh

Thank you for the additional information.

You say you always make a back-up file, a very good idea! But assuming you also have the "original" of this "back up" (by definition, a back-up should be a "safety" copy of an original) what happens if you open the "original" file in VPX 12?
