Change project Name

bassam wrote on 4/22/2014, 4:33 PM

I been trying to figure thi sout but I can't.. So Projects when made brand new get both a project Name and Project file name. The project name is always displayed on the very top beside the file name, and is displayed right above the preview window.

Now I want to change this name, but I haven't figured out how yet. Does anyone have any idea?

Hi

. . . . The project name is always displayed on the very top beside the file name . . . .

Not exactly, the second part of the title is the movie name which is usually the same as the project.

However if you use Save Project as and give it a different name you will find the movie name stays as the original.

To rename the movie - for MEP 2014 or 2013 right click the movie tab and select Rename movie, for MX and earlier click the film reel icon just above the timeline on the left and select Rename movie .

HTH

I wasn't sure where the movie tab was actually but after looking deeper, I realized the time line can have multiple tabs.. And those tabs have the movie name on it, appreciate your help as always john ^_^

Hi John,

After all these years with MEP I'm still not comfortable with this naming arrangement. I'd be interested to know how often you and others actually save movies, as opposed to projects? I hardly ever do so.

No one with any feedback on 'movie-saving' please?

Hi Terry

Like you I save different versions of a project when working on one, however the only time I save different versions of the movie is when I am preparing, for example, a multi movie project.

Each project / movie is prepared seperately and is complete in itself and the project and movie are saved seperately, sometimes with several versions.

They are all brought together as one project by importing the individual movies into a new project.
