Hi All

Maybe X Red means Reduction about the X axis which is what happens when you rotate a flat 2D object forward or backwards in 3D space ie it apprears to be squished vertically.

Where do you see Z Red? Z axis is usually the Roll axis so it would be a programming hangover for Rotation would'nt it?

What is the prize for the first one who guesses this one!

Peter

Hmm, now the Edit tool has resurfaced. So I've deleted the previous content. But why can I not delete the post itself?

I'm having a lot of trouble with posting - anyone else? For instance, it seems that I cannot edit posts now. And  my attempt to add a smiley crashed the site. Maybe it's just from my iPad? Anyway, here's my edited post.

I stand by my answer!

Zred appears if you add a KF to rotation around the Z axis, i.e. the one coming straight out towards you from the xy plane of the screen. It's changed with the third tool from the left.

If the author had been English, the abbreviations would probably have been something like  Xrot, Yrot and Zrot.

As for my prize if I'm right, I expect nothing less than a bottle of ShiraZred from you Carl!

Peter asks: "Where do you see Z Red?"

I don't, I haven't; I asked "...what would it be, if it existed!"

My thinking was as now others, that it would be a logical parallel to XRed and YRed about those two axes.

Happy to provide a Shiraz, ZRed or otherwise. Posts to: Local pick-up only!

Regards, and further enjoyment all during this, the 'silly season',

Carl I'll be right over!

Hi

This really is the silly season and getting sillyer!

I have just seen a German members screen shot of the expanded Size / Position KF's and it has X Rot, Y Rot, and Rotation - so it must be X Rot(ation), etc. and Rot is German for Red so it got translated to Red in English.

Peter,

I declare you to get two 'rot's! (pick up only) >>

Bing says English 'rotation' >> German 'Drehung' and vice versa. I'd like (be amused) trying a conversation with the Magix language support team -- bi-lingual dictionaries and several bottles or steins in hand!

Things get way silly towards 40C! http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/forecasts/adelaide.shtml

Redgards,

Carl

Hi

@ Carl

. . . . Bing says English 'rotation' >> German 'Drehung' and vice versa . . . .

Bing , Google and many of the other on-line translators often get this and many other things wrong  .

Having spoken to my German teacher (my wife) - in German, Drehung is not normally used in the context of rotation as we are talking about in this topic - Rotation  (pronounced like ro tats ee own) is used.

Drehung is more used in the context of, for example, turning in dancing or skiing.

So the translation of Rot to Red would be correct if, as Peter and Terry pointed out we were talking about colours, however in this case because the same word is used in this context then the translation has gone wrong.

That's the point Carl and I were making John.

Anyway despite all this frivolity are we any closer to knowing the best method (apart from Terry's macro) of changing a zoom effects curve's KF's, en masse, without losing the x,y centering?

Terry, has Ralf reviewed this Topic since your original query?

Hi Peter,

I haven't been in touch with Ralf for a week or so (during this trip) but he was intending to do so. I expect he'll discuss with colleagues and play with the dialog before posting here.
