Chapter name to appear on video as title text

LeoPro wrote on 4/25/2020, 11:22 AM

Hi,

I had created BD disks in MEP many times in the past. And I occasionally had success in that the names of movie chapters have appeared on final BD video as title text. This appearance of chapter name were prolonged few seconds at the beginning of each chapter. I hadn't made any specific settings in MEP for such an appearance of chapter names on video. I think, it was default settings.

Now, I'm just trying to make a BD again and seeing NO chapter name is appeared on video as title text. I looks like I made some change in MEP settings

Is there any specific settings to get chapter name to appear on video as title text ???

Hi

. . . . And I occasionally had success in that the names of movie chapters have appeared on final BD video as title text . . . .

Edited:

Chapter names are not stored in the playlist file that contains the chapter locations - therefore no player can display chapter names, the only 'text' reference within the file is the movie clip name (on disc) that the chapter markers are associated with and this should not be displayed by the player.

If playback was on a PS4 then this is a 'bug' within the PS4.

Hi,

Thanks a lot John for your reply.

What I've mentioned in my story is that the MEP might had an automatic conversion of the chapter names to the title text, which timing position was assigned to chapter location. So, it definitely should be displayed by any player.

Thanks for your help

Did the chapter titles appear at the appropriate times when you played the full movie, not just a chapter?

Hi,

Yes, the chapter titles appear exactly at the appropriate times when the full movie is played. They appear for a few seconds. All the chapter titles appear at upper part of the movie. The different chapter titles might appear at the left, center or right side.

Hi

What is the full name and version number of the program as found under Help about. . .?

I have never come across 'automatic chapter title' generation in any of the versions of MEP I have had, MEP 17 through to the current version (2020).

A search of the forum also has not show any questions about automatic titles at chapter markers.

Do you still have one of the projects and its media that was showing the titles - if so what do you see on the timeline when you load into the program?
