Clicks and pops playing audio and audio exported in Sound Forge 17

Hello Im using SF17 importing mp3 (the audio is clean of clicks and gaps).

When I play imported audio, I hear clicks, skips, and interruptions aleatories in the sound. If I export the audio it contains cliks and skips.

I use a Fireface 800 128 samples, which does not produce any problem in the audio in other apps (cubase synths, and many others).

I read other user with similar problems so I followed the instructions given for that problem, except the audio buffer which is greyed in my case so I cant change that.

Its very frustrating to have that problem wich I dont have experienced for a long long time using audio in computers, Im using SF17 just recently, so I hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @lovejazz.

Try "Always proxy compressed formats" in the 'Options> Preferences> General' menu.

Hello, thanks for the tip!, at first play it seems to sound correctly now.

Strange thing is that it seems to be a tweak for slow computers that cant decompress in real time the compressed audio audio, but my pc is a 285k with 64gb, so would not have figured my pc cant do a mp3 in real time.

Still learning SF17.

Thanks for the fast advice, great support.

This has been an issue for many folks. I am not sure the amount of RAM memory has much to do with it since many users have encountered it. That said, the data compressed file 'proxy' option has been available in SF as far back as I recollect. Few folks needed it though until recently... around SF-16. I think it could be the newer MP3 codec's decompress is not efficient as the Fraunhofer which was the MP3 codec in the legacy SF versions.
