Hi,

As far as I know, you can't change the background. The text has a transparent background and only the foreground is coloured.

You could add in a rectangle as the background for the text like I did here:

This is simply a background image that I resized and put below the text.

Could you post a screen shot of what you would like to see?

Hi,

Adding to John's suggestion, if you want to use a few particular background rectangles on a frequent basis for your news ticker, here's how:

1. Group some text and your sized and positioned background

2. Right click the text  object > Save as special effect

3. Next time you need it, select it as your title template.

I'm curious about your reference to 'movie edit pro 2005'. I'm not familiar with an MEP version of that name? How did it differ in this context?
