Colour Correction

Hi

I am trying to change the back ground colour of a clip.

I have looked at a couple of videos on this site but it does not work for me for some reason,

What I do is: highlight the clip, go to video effects, go to colour correction, click on add, click on background, move to curser onto the clip, the curser is a pen shape with a cross at the point of it. I click on on the parts I want to change colour. I go to the little circle in the colour selection but at this point the picture goes back to the original colour and if I change the colour selection it changes the  whole clip.

Regards

Michael Blount

Hi Michael,

You didn't say which version you have, so this is what to do in 2014 Plus.

There are 3 selections under level, Master, Foreground, Background.

To change the colour of what you selected, click on Foreground and then make the changes.

To change the colour of what you didn't select, click on Background and then make the changes.

Since you were on Master, everything changes and the selection means nothing.

When you start to move the colour wheel or slider, the selection that you made, which is really a mask, goes away so that you can see the effect of your colour change as you do it.

Remember, the colour(s) that you selected may also be in other areas of the image and this may not be what you want.
