Can I go back and forth between video pro x and Movie Maker pro? I use Video Pro x on a desktop. I'm considering using Movie Maker pro on a laptop. Can I take a file begun on Movie Maker Pro and then continue the edit on Video Pro x, and vice versa?
Then what is Movie Maker Pro? Do you mean Movie Edit Pro?
If so then yes and no. Yes you can work on a project in Movie Edit Pro and then open it in Video Pro X but that modified project can't then be opened successfully back in Movie Edit Pro (MEP) as the tools in Video Pro X (VPX) are more advanced than Movie Edit pros and are not backwards compatible. Effects like adding colour grading added in VPX will not show correctly in MEP.
Thanks for quick responses. My question is resolved. My laptop won't handle video pro X, but I may start projects there and finish on desktop. Thanks to you both for your help.
. . . . My laptop won't handle video pro X, but I may start projects there and finish on desktop. . . . .
Which version of Movie Edit Pro (MEP) are you using on the laptop.
If it is MEP 2021 then it is likely to suffer similar issues as VPX. They both use the same video engine, the major differences are the second preview monitor, extra pro/broadcast tools, additional video format support and use of a Nvidia or AMD GPU for exporting HEVC video in VPX.
