Hi,

File > Settings > Program... > System

Look in your project folder (defined in File > Settings > Program... > Folder > Projects) to see if MEP made a backup file, with a name like this: projectname_BAK1.MV_

Hey,

Settle down and stop writing as if you are yelling at someone.  No one here works for Magix, this is a user community where users help each other on their own time.  The question you have asked is covered in the user manual which you clearly did not read.  I will give you the answer but if you ever ask a question with the tone that you used, you will not get any response from me.You need to turn on auto save like this

.

The next time you ask for help, try to be a little more respectful of the people who work their asses off helping people like you who can't be bothered to read the manual that comes with the product.

Terry, good answer, but you are way too nice to someone who did not do virtually any research on how to solve the problem.

Thank you Terry.

Terry,

You're way to harsh. Haven't you ever had a program crash at the wrong time.

I read manuals - I look on line and read there. If I can't find it quick the documentation is poor.  I didn't find it quick.

I've also have always believed that a graphics program has the need to be intuitive. If not, it's not for the artistically inclined.

The autosave is set to 10mins by default so that's not so much to lose. Are you sure you have opened the latest backup?

I guess you mean George!

I agree. And despite being a long term fan of MEP since version 11, it's been something of a love/hate relationship. Not the most intuitive of the NLEs I've used and exasperatingly inconsistent in its documentation. And, as in your case, those characteristics are inevitably seen in their worst light when a crisis arises.

But overall it rewards persistence and IMO is the best around. I can't imagine being without it!

paulf,

I think you must have meant me and not Terry.  You called my response harsh, but I call your post both arrogant and demanding.  Read this post  and think about the difference between asking for help and demanding it after providing virtually no information.  This user had a similar problem but chose a much different approach to asking for help from people who volunteer.  After looking at your reaction, I am actually sorry that I even bothered to waste my time and reply at all.

Think about it.

I also want to see if my movie project was automatically saved. When I try to go from settings to program, I get the dreaded spinning disc. (lockup)

Any suggestions?

Hi

@EditorJim

Please do not resurrect old topics - this one is over 4 years old.

Please read this topic and create a new post with more information - include:

  1. Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset, RAM, hard drive size and free space?
  2. Windows version and is it up to date?
  3. Software full name and version number - see under Help, About . . .
