Crashes

Movie edit pro

Screen capture project

Windows 10

New mic

Capture works but can't get audio to record.

Program says my levels are too low.

But have set my recording levels as high as ther can go.

Also session usually ends up crashing.

So far I haven't seen much help with this issue but I am a novice. Any suggestions would be nice.

Thanks

@Kenneth-Ratcliff

Welcome to the Magix forums.

First suggestion: please read this pinned post and give us ALL the information requested there. At the moment we know little about your computer and nothing about the exact version and variant of MEP which you have! (The exact version number can be found by going to Help>About and telling us what that screen shows; the variant is whether you have Basic, Plus or Premium.)

It would also be very helpful to know the type of mic you have (the manufacturer name and model would be useful) and about how, exactly, it is connected to your computer. Do you have/are you using any sort of external audio interface?

@Kenneth-Ratcliff

Hi

Right click the speaker icon bottom right of the screen.

Select Open sound settings, in the window that opens locate the microphone entry and select Device properties this will open the Microphone properties page.

Click the option arrowed in the image below, the window seen in the centre of the image below will now open.

Click the Levels tab and increase the microphone boost circled in image below and test.

The OP, @Kenneth-Ratcliff actually sent two PMs direct to me in response to my first answer to his question. I know he has now resolved the problem (without much direct input from me) and I have asked that either he post the messages to this thread (because I suspect other users may well benefit from what he discovered) or give me permission to do so. I await his response!

Thank you for your help. Been there many times. My problem is resolved as I figured out that I had 4 USB audio devices attached. So I assumed there might be some unforseen conflicts.

Being that I use those other interfaces for other audio processing I simply just unplugged them all except the microphone. And the problem was solved.

Another problem is the fact I'm a novice and need to be more studious about learning this awesome software.

Merry Christmas!
