Cropping rather than scaling

I’ve been using Xara Designer Pro X V.19 for quite a few years now without any problems. I’m certainly no expert 😌

I recently bought a new PC and have now noticed that when I paste an image from the clipboard, I can no longer resize it. Xara crops the image instead of resizing it. I can’t remember changing any settings that would cause this.

What I always used to do:

  1. Paste the image
  2. Select the Selector Tool
  3. Unlock the aspect ratio
  4. Enter the desired width and height
  5. Set the X and Y coordinates of the selection

Fortunately, I still have my old PC and was able to carry out these steps there without any problems.
Everything still works correctly on my old PC.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this on my new PC?

Since Designer Pro is now exclusively a Xara product (so not sold by Magix any longer) I suggest you might receive more useful assistance by registering at and posting to the Talk Graphics forum, here.
