i can't customize my shortcut keys. For instance, when I change the record shortcut "R" to "M" it shows "M" in the Shortcut list, but it doesn't work in the program. Only "R" still works when I want to capture video. I've tried it in Magix 2021, 2023 and 2025. with no success.

I don't know why one would want to do this, but I had no problem doing this in 2025 Suite.
M is the shortcut for the Mixer. I presume that you clicked on "Assign keyboard shortcut" after putting M in the white box. When you tried, there should have been a message pop up stating that M is already being used and asking if you want to replace it.
If you say yes, 2025 adds it to the keyboard shortcut but R is still there.
When you try, either M or R should now open the Record interface. Now, you'll have no shortcut for the Mixer.
You can go back and delete the R and use it for something else.

I learned now that when using the shortcut key "R" in the edit page, the RECORDING SOURCE SELECTION interface open.
I can open this page from within the edit page when I changed the "R" shortcut with the custom "M" shortcut as well
Then in the RECORDING SOURCE SELECTION interface I choose ANALOG, which take me to the VIDEO RECORDING page
In the VIDEO RECORDING page only the shortcut "R" and not "M" start or stop the recording of the video
It is in this page "VIDEO RECORDING" that i wish to change the "R" shortcut to a shortcut key just above the spacebar (to for instance "M")

I see what you mean about Video Recording. It seems that the shortcuts for this interface are independent of the main program. I cannot find any way to change these shortcuts.
