Disappointed in Magix Studio 2022

Unfortunately I upgraded thinking this was a standard upgrade of the program like it has been for decades. This is a completely different product, my .vf files don't bring in all content, features, and hot keys are different. I stuck with this product because I didn't have to learn a new program. I could always trust I could go in and get work done quickly as I have for decades. I'm deciding whether to just go with Blender if I'm going to have to learn a new program, or just roll back to the old Magix Studio that I enjoy using. Luckily it was only a $60 loss... but still not happy at all and I would advise any long time user to research this new version prior to buying. Magix lost a long time customer today enjoy that $60 as that will be the last you get from me.

@Ulrich75

Hi,

See this.

I understand your frustration, but, if you were to take a serious look at the "new" program, you would find that you have much, much more than you ever had with Vegas MS. You would, of course, still have to finish on-going projects in Vegas MS and not Magix MS.

Vegas stopped development of Vegas MS 2 versions ago to concentrate on Vegas Pro. Magix stepped in to help those who wanted a very good consumer-oriented program. They modified Movie Edit Pro so that one could import at least the timeline of Vegas MS projects.

You can always upgrade to Vegas Pro.

the comments in your linkdo not fill me with confidence in Magix. I've already wasted $60 and would prefer not to waste another $100. It's all good...I can still use my old version, and there is always Blender... so I'm good, Just disappointed.

Thanks I'll try that... can't believe they offered this as an upgrade to my current version with no warning that this is a new product that will not be compatible with your current product.

Hi,

...can't believe they offered this as an upgrade to my current version with no warning that this is a new product that will not be compatible with your current product.

This was discussed many times in both this and the Vegas forums and the only way to know is to read these messages on the forums or to open the advert for Movie Studio on Magix.com and look at the details, particularly the images, and you'll see a different program from Vegas MS.

If you just click on Learn More in the popup advert from Vegas MS, which is what most users do and is normal, you will not be able to tell that it's a different program. This was and still is annoying and misleading and Magix has been repeatedly told to fix this. You should complain to Magix about this.
