Distorted sound

Just installed Music Maker 2021 premium addition. All sound is crackly and distorted. Have tried solutions on this site using playback options to reduce to 48000Hz or less (laptop is 48000 headphones are 44100Hz - makes no difference. Samples and demo track remain distorted

Any suggestions please

Try these settings:

If you do not have Realtek audio chipset, your audio device should have similar settings for the Advanced options.

Hi John - no luck with this. I have installed on a new HP laptop that matched the spec recommended. I bought this as I was planning to but MM. Is there something with the new laptop that may not be good enough?

In the advanced box I have more options than in your image

AMD high definition audio device

Realtek Audio

Realtek HD Audio mic input

Realtek HD Audio stereo input

Realtek HD Audio output with HAP - which gives two output options (32 bit or 24 bit) and one in option (32 bit)

Realtek HD audio 2nd output

Mic in at front panel (black)

Any other suggestions?

Can you show a screenshot of those same settings as @johnebaker shows, but for your computer?

Are you speakers plugged into the computer or in the monitor(s)?

What is the default sound card used in the Sound Settings, Playback tab?

This should be the one you select in the Advanced settings.
